People think they live in a linear world. The web feels like it came out of
nowhere, but actually it was in the flatter part of the exponential curve.

Yes, Ray Kurzweil says we are advancing faster than ever and are increasing speed, which is not good for people who don't know about the robots, which is almost everyone.

All the more reason to do exactly what you are doing.
As mentioned elsewhere about 98% of all people are ignorant of the current situation. Call it old fashioned brainwashing , or just common ignorance.
I particularly like and encourage the idea you mentioned about your technocracy group. You might want to check with C.H.Q. or continental headquarters for more information as to ideas concerning that. There is at least one official speaker, Ron Miller by name that may be able to address your group, or if you hold a larger meeting to promote the technocratic alternative.
You may want to learn about becoming an official speaker sometime in the future also.
To contact that group out there go to the official technocracy website; www.technocracyinc.org and ask them for thoughts and ideas. They have free literature available. You might want to stock up on some of that for your meetings.
I don`t know if they have any of the hard cover 1934 -47 Study Course books out there to give away, but you could ask for those also. They are the precedent document and still completely accurate and relevant.
I suppose you could print chapters at a time of the study course from online sources also.
Keep in mind that you want the actual study course. There have been a couple of not so hot rewrites .
My technocracynow.org site has it , as do the N.E.T. or Network of European Technocrats. There most advanced model that is . Free at both sites.

I put a few links on netscape.com, which has the ability to show things to a lot of people, but not many people voted on the stories.

The group hasn't had any meetings yet---it's just an electronic group on a Web site like MySpace (the Facebook). I've been to technocracy.org and I've sent the link to this Web site to the people behind technocracy.org. I also sent a link to Ray Kurzweil.
